Stephen Bye is President of °Ä²Ê¿ª½±â€™ Connectivity division, overseeing Ookla, Speedtest, Downdetector, Ekahau, and RootMetrics. Stephen brings to °Ä²Ê¿ª½± more than three decades of experience across wireless, cable, and wireline providers in the U.S. and several other countries. Prior to joining °Ä²Ê¿ª½± in January 2023, Stephen was the Chief Commercial Officer for the wireless business at DISH, which is now part of Echostar. Additionally, he has held a range of executive positions at C Spire, Sprint, Cox Communications, AT&T, BellSouth International, Optus Communications, and Telstra. Stephen currently serves on the board of directors of Echostar (NASDAQ: SATS). Stephen holds a Bachelor of Engineering degree (Hons.) in electrical engineering from the University of Tasmania (Australia), a Bachelor of Science degree (Hons.) in banking and finance from the London School of Economics (UK) and has been granted 12 patents. He is a Chartered Engineer, a Senior Member of IEEE, a Fellow of the Institute of Engineering and Technology and a member of the CFA Institute. Before his career in telecom, Stephen served as an engineering officer in the Royal Australian Navy.
